The Impact of Pre-Slaughter Fasting on the Ruminal Microbial Population of Commercial Angus Steers

Abstract: Diet impacts the composition of the ruminal microbiota; however, prior to slaughter, cattle are fasted, which may change the ruminal microbial ecosystem structure and lead to dysbiosis.
