“…Thus, equipping nursing students to have greater confidence in clinical decision-making and improving their perceptions of the value of research in practice may increase their likelihood to utilize EBP in their future practice (Brown, Kim, Stichler, & Fields, 2010;Leach, Hofmeyer, & Bobridge, 2016;Pravikoff et al, 2005). Since these are important skills for nursing students to obtain, the objectives of this study were to evaluate the change in nursing students' 1) perceptions of and 2) confidence in research and EBP, as well as to assess 3) changes in nursing students' interest in research participation, after completing a required course in research and EBP.…”

“…Academic institutions should comply with the rules and clinical guidelines of patient safety. Notably, students may have more limited expertise in participating in patient safety initiatives than other healthcare professionals (Leach, Hofmeyer, & Bobridge, ). Therefore, the patient safety competencies of students should be strengthened in the undergraduate healthcare curricula to build a strong safety culture.…”

“…Such work is being conducted by one author on a sample of South Australian final-year nursing students, who will be tracked for 12 months after graduation. 23 EBASE results can be used formatively to tailor course curriculum and learning objectives to better meet learner needs. CAM professional associations may also consider surveying their members with an online version of the EBASE to assess the need for EBP continuing education courses.…”
