In the digital era, the influence of online media on distance education is increasing, and students' choice of different online media determines the level of distance education teaching services. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 2106 students of Guangxi Open University. By comparing the new media preference of different gender students in distance education institutions, this study found the effectiveness and shortcomings of current open university enrollment promotion, and proposed suggestions for remote education to classify and promote to different gender and age student groups, establish multiple new media enrollment platforms, and comprehensively promote publicity in two aspects.

This paper constructs a random matrix-based teaching evaluation model for college volleyball clubs and deeply investigates the impact of a random matrix-based teaching evaluation model for college volleyball clubs on the effectiveness of college volleyball teaching. Based on random matrix theory (RMT), we analyze the data characteristics according to the single ring law. By introducing matrix Stein pairs, combined with the Laplace transform method, some concentration inequalities of random matrices are proved, and these inequalities play a very important role in the study of eigenvalues of random matrices. The random matrix model was used to analyze the changes brought by the club-based curriculum teaching to students’ physical quality, and a random matrix-based assessment model of college volleyball club teaching was proposed. The model fit test and independence test were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 20 software, and an online survey in the form of Questionnaire Star platform was used to map the correlation between college volleyball education and club-based teaching reform with X college physical education students as the research subjects, to provide more scientific theoretical guidance for the influence of club-based teaching mode of physical education courses on the physical quality of college students.

Student recruitment and the geographic area from where a university is recruiting its students play a key part in institutional development and in the position a university holds in national and international rankings. Therefore, successful universities assign important resources to attracting students to the educational programmes they offer. The location of the university also plays an important role in student motivation when choosing an educational offer. In this article, we focus on the main pull factors that attract students to Babeș-Bolyai University of ClujNapoca, we analyze how the city and the university's pull factors have changed in the past years, assuming that these changes, namely the institution's and the city's increasing attractiveness, had an influence on the recruitment area of students. Our hypothesis is that the increasing attractiveness leads to more students coming from a national recruitment area, instead of local and regional areas, where the main base of students of the institution used to be in the past. In the second part of this article we present recruitment data for the past five years, focusing on the recruitment area and the county of origin of the students, in order to confirm our hypothesis.
