Günümüzde bilgi teknolojisinin gelişmesi, kentlerde ekonomik, sosyal, kültürel ve siyasal alanda dijital dönüşümler yaşanmasına neden olmuştur. Bilgi teknolojilerinin askeri, sağlık, mimari, kent planlama, kentsel tasarım ve eğitim gibi birçok alanda kullanımı, kentlerde teknoloji ve planlamayı birlikte ele almayı gerektirmektedir. İçinde bulunduğumuz bilişim çağında teknolojinin yardımıyla gelişen kentler; sorunlara yenilikçi çözümler bulabilmek için geleneksel yöntemler yerine teknolojinin kullanıldığı yöntemlere geçiş yapmaktadır. Şeffaflık ve katılımcılık ilkelerine sahip, kişisel verilerin korunabildiği, gerçek ve sanal ortamları etkileşim içine sokan, insan hayatını kolaylaştıran, yüksek algılanabilirliğe sahip, güvenilir ve teknoloji ile uyumlu kentler tasarlamak oldukça önemlidir. Bu noktada gerçek ve sanal evreni birleştiren, kullanıcıların zaman ve mekân sınırlarını ortadan kaldıran, güçlü dijital yeniliklere sahip metaverse platformunun kullanımı toplumlarda yaygınlaşmaktadır. Metaverse platformunun kentlerde kullanımının yaygınlaşması, hem kentin fiziki ve sosyal süreçlerini geliştirmeye hem de bireylerin deneyimlerini kolaylaştırarak toplumsal süreçlere katkıda bulunmalarına yardımcıdır. Araştırmanın amacını, kentlerin dijital dönüşümü ve gelişiminde metaverse teknolojisinin kullanılabileceği alanların belirlenmesi ve bu teknolojinin kentler üzerindeki önemini tartışmak oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada çağın getirdiği yeniliklere uyum sağlayabilen ve metavarse evrenini kullanan ya da kullanmayı hedefleyen öncü kentlere örnekler verilmiştir. Hızla gelişmekte olan metaverse teknolojisinin avantajlarını anlamak, projeler tasarlamak ve karşılaşılabilecek sorunlara karşı çözümler üretebilmek; metaverse teknolojisinin daha yaşanabilir, sürdürülebilir, dirençli ve yönetişim düzeyi yüksek kentler yaratabilmesini destekleyecektir. Bu nedenle araştırma, literatüre katkı sağlaması ve metaverse teknolojisinin kentlerin sosyal, fiziki ve ekonomik gelişimine etkilerinin tartışılması açısından önemlidir.

Contemporary business trends influence tourism destinations to use advantages that modern information technology provides. Geographic information systems (GIS) could be used for those purposes, especially in area of marketing management. In this regard, the subject of this paper is to determine if GIS application in destination marketing has positive impact for tourism offer and demand. The paper is based on secondary data, gathered from academic publications from different scientific fields: tourism and hospitality, marketing and ICT. Research results confirmed the primary hypothesis, which indicated that GIS application could be beneficial for both tourism offer and demand. The significance of the research results is reflected as a contribution to theoretical framework of GIS in the tourism, as well as in making a foundation for implementation of those systems in practical marketing activities on the level of the tourism destination.

Recommender systems have become an active research topic during the last two decades, thus giving rise to several approaches and techniques. They have also become increasingly popular among practitioners and used in variety of areas including movies, news, books, research articles restaurants, garments, financial services, insurance, social tags and products in general. Tourism is an important sector for economic development and a potential application area of use of recommender systems. This paper presents an overview of existing recommender approaches used in tourism and discusses their relevance taking into account tourism context and specificities.
