Kapasitas pemerintah daerah untuk menangani kuantitas sampah yang semakin besar tentu tidak lagi memadai. Partisipasi masyarakat menjadi pilihan strategis untuk meringankan beban pemerintah dalam mengelola sampah. Untuk itulah, berdirinya Bank Sampah “RAMAH” di Perum Sapphire Regency merupakan bagian penting untuk mewujudkan peran serta masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah. Namun demikian, salah kendala pengelolaan Bank Sampah RAMAH adalah aspek kelembagaan khususnya komitmen pengelola. Padahal salah satu faktor penting untuk menjaga kestabilan kesuksesan organisasi adalah komitmen anggota terhadap tujuan organisasi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertujuan meningkatkan komitmen dan dedikasi para pengelola Bank Sampah RAMAH melalui penerapan konsep organizational engagement. Hasil kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan mengenai perbandingan pengukuran tingkat pemahaman organizational engagement menunjukkan adanya perubahan tingkat pemahaman secara signifikan. Ini berarti bahwa metode sosialisasi dan pelatihan telah secara efektif meningkatkan pemahaman pengelola Bank Sampah RAMAH mengenai pentingnya organizational engagement. Hasil pelatihan juga menunjukkan bahwa para pengelola menilai pentingnya upaya memelihara komitmen bersama agar keberlangsungan bank sampah dapat dijaga.

Rapid population growth has both a positive and a negative impact, such as an increase in household waste generation. This also becomes a new chain of problems in other aspects, such as health, flood, air pollution, and environmental pollution. To overcome this problem, an integrated waste management system is needed. Household waste, especially inorganic waste, was valuable. The application was developed to promote a new paradigm; waste is a new source of money. As well as help run a circular economy in the waste recycling industry. The application to be built is "WasteApp", an independent household waste management application that can track and help manage it. This application is built using the Android operating system to make it a user-friendly tool. An application trial was conducted in Geulanggang Baro village, Bireuen district involving the operator, local government, and community. This location was chosen because they already have informal waste management, and it is easier to maximize by information technology intervention. The final result of this research is the “WasteApp” application based on android to manage household waste independently. The community, operator, and local government can work waste independently and systematically through this system. This application contains several menus, including the Home menu, login, register, and the main menu, namely the waste sell history and selling waste, as well as educational articles that contain how to manage waste, from sorting waste to the recycling process. Community participation was needed to increase to full implementation of good waste management.

During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak in Indonesia, the government also faces another health problem, namely dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). The routine activities of the dengue management system have been significantly curtailed as government authorities concentrate more on containing the transmission of the COVID-19. This study aimed to describe vector control Aedes sp. during pandemic COVID-19, such as community activities in controlling breeding places, area risk, vector density and the determinant factors. This study was a community-based cross-sectional survey involving 136 households in the endemic area of Gondokusuman District, Yogyakarta, Indonesia using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data analysis was performed through simple and multiple logistic regression tests. Vector control for Aedes sp. breeding places during pandemic COVID-19 in the community are still low; the high level of vector density proves this based on House Index (HI): 44.1%, container index (CI): 57.4%, and Breteau Index (BI): 213.2%. This district is also at high risk to be the breeding places of Aedes sp. based on maya index (MI): 64.7%. The determinant factor that affects this condition is the lack of support by health workers/cadres during the COVID-19 pandemic.
