There is growing evidence on the impact of technology addiction on different aspects of college / university students´ life; however, its relationship towards academic achievement has been understudied so far. Following a prolonged period of pandemic restrictions and online study, there is a need to explore how academic achievement was impacted and mediated by different health-related and psychological factors. The aim of this intercultural study was to find out how smartphone / internet addiction, mental health (depression, anxiety, stress, and resilience), and personality traits interact to affect individual aspects of academic achievement of Czech and Chinese college / university students. Data from an online survey that included a number of tests were analyzed using a path analysis. Academic achievement correlated positively with technology addiction in Chinese students, compared to the opposite trend in the Czech sample. Except for the common influences of gender, extroversion, conscientiousness, and stress, there were factors specific to the Chinese sample (agreeableness, anxiety), as well as for Czech students (resilience). Also, the level of explained variance in internet addiction and academic achievement differed in both samples. Future studies may better explore and explain the potentially positive role of technology addiction that is probably specific for many Chinese students in tertiary education.

Smartphone addiction is a growing social issue globally, especially among young consumers. Few studies have examined the role of smartphone addiction and student performance in Pakistan. However, how daily life disturbance, positive anticipation, withdrawal, cyberspace orientation, overuse, tolerance, and student academic performance has not been examined in the literature in Pakistan. The purpose of the study is to examine the effect of daily life disturbance, positive anticipation, withdrawal, cyberspace orientation, overuse, and tolerance on student academic performance. The study has adopted a self-administered survey-based approach. A total of 375 responses were gathered from the university students in Pakistan. The study has used SPSS 25.0 version to analyse the data and report the findings. The findings indicate that ‘overuse’ has the most indirect effect on students’ performance, followed by Cyberspace and oriented relationship, tolerance, positive anticipation, and daily life disturbance. The study demands a particular intervention by the students to self-regulate their behaviour. Parents and teachers play their role in controlling mobile addiction. Policymakers may introduce policy-related interventions to control the excessive use of mobile phones. The study lays down future directions and discusses the limitations towards the end.

Scientific creativity skills (SCS) and problem-solving abilities (PSA) are benchmarks in assessing a person's quality in learning 21. SCS and PSA need to be possessed by every student. They can be developed by implementing a model of collaborative creativity learning (CCL) because it can train students in exploring ideas related to problems of geographical phenomena and encourage the active role of students in mastering concepts and analyzing a problem. CCL learning needs to be explored regarding its influence on Scientific Creativity and Problem Solving which is closely related to collaborative learning. This study aimed to determine the effect of the CCL model on the SCS and PSA of high school geography students. The research design in this study used a quasi-experimental study with a post-test only control group and Man Whitney U test, and an Independent-sample T test as data analysis. The research subjects used were class X Social Science-1 and X Social Science-2 as an experimental group using the CCL model, while class X Social Science-3 as a control group using a conventional learning model. The results showed a significant effect from applying the CCL Model on SCS and PSA with a significant score of 0.001 < 0.05. This study proves that applying the CCL Model can develop SCS and PSA.
