The influence of various preheating and direction of magnetic field on combustion characteristics of palm oil droplets for boiler combustion in power generation system

Abstract: Research has been carried out on the effect of various preheating and the direction of the magnetic field on the flame characteristics of droplet combustion. This study is important to substitute fuel from fossils with vegetable oil that is environment friendly. The variations of the magnetic field are south-south pole, north-north pole, south-north pole, north-south pole, and without. A drop of palm oil is placed on a type K thermocouple between two magnetic rods. The high-speed camera of 120 fps from the fro… Show more

“…The formation of H 2 O molecules has the potential to cause a natural transesterification process so that the carboxyl group on the triglyceride carbon chain breaks and separates from the fatty acids. This analysis follows previous studies, which used crude jatropha oil and palm oil droplets without additives but underwent a preheating process and magnetic field [32] to produce hot steam in the form of H 2 O molecules, which contribute to breaking the carboxyl group from fatty acids [33,34], and increase the reactivity of fuel molecules. In addition to the multi-component elements owned by CCO fuel and CvO and EO additives.…”

“…When it explodes, the fuel vapours in the bubbles do not have enough time to disperse and rapidly react. Therefore, the flame becomes spherical or widened (Perdana et al, 2022).…”
