The article addresses the question of the optimization of forest and agricultural land tenure in the environment of natural afforestation in accordance with the aims of sustainable development. The topicality of the research is predefined by the need for the increase of areas occupied by forests according to the legislative initiatives, need for the improvement of agricultural land, the improvement of ecology in the environment of insufficient afforestation. The resolving of the problem of self-afforested agricultural land plots in the process of land consolidation has been suggested. Approaches to the problem of natural agricultural land afforestation have been singled out, advantages and perspectives of land consolidation as compared to other approaches have been substantiated. The involvement of land plots defined as escheated inheritance and non-recalled land shares to the process of land reallotment at land consolidation has been suggested. The adjustment of the land reallotment methodology at land consolidation in the environment of natural afforestation of agricultural land has been suggested. As the result of reallotment, trees were kept on the afforested land plots, a joint consolidated forest mass was formed, the configuration of land plots was improved, road network was improved. The results can be used at the implementation of the Large-scale Afforestation of Ukraine environmental initiative, and in the following scientific research on land tenure and use spatial improvement.

The problem of land reallotment modeling in agricultural land masses aiming at land consolidation is scrutinized in the article. The topicality of the research is predefined by the need for the optimization of the structure of land tenure within an agricultural land mass, the implementation of measures on land consolidation. The research is aimed at the substantiation of the theory of combinations aiming at the improvement of the exchange of land plots, i.e. the choosing of alternative land plots within an agricultural land mass. The calculations are based on choosing the land plots to be exchanged to provide the optimal for agricultural activities spatial characteristics of land plots. The calculation of the variants of the formation of the consolidated land tenure by a land owner who has the right to own the prevailing share of a typical agricultural land mass has been suggested. The results of the research can be used at the realization of complex and individual land consolidation projects; at the optimization of land tenure by the sublease of land plots; as a material for the substantiation of the decision making on the land tenure optimization by territorial communities; in the following research on spatial land tenure and land ownership spatial improvement.

Efficient water utilization and greenhouse gas emissions have become the topic of wide scientific interest in the last few decades. In this research, we considered the reduction in the road length and the increase in the irrigation channel length after land consolidation. The efficiency of water use is considered as the function of the distance between the water source and crops. The reduction of greenhouse gases is considered as the function of the reduction in the length of the agricultural mechanized transport. A simple mathematical model was developed for calculating the reduction of the road network transport length. The results showed that land consolidation (LC) reduces the road network length, by itself, and provides conditions for an increase in the irrigation channel length. In the case study area, the road network length was reduced by more than one-third (36.8%) and the irrigation channel length was more than doubled (125.9%).
