The Mechanism of Carbohydrate Oxidation. Xi. The Action of Potassium Hydroxide on Maltose

Abstract: Evans and marjoriE p. benoy Vol. 52 compound separated by crystallization from the above ethyl acetate-alcohol mixture in the same way as the dimethylpiperidinium bromide. There was thus obtained 0.59 g. of pure quaternary ammonium salt from 1.57 g. of the amine.
