“…We also assess the mediating role of different positive (i.e., empathy, hope) and negative (i.e., anger, anxiety, fear) emotions related to collective action in the relationships between intergroup contact and both collective action and societal collective action intentions. To achieve these goals, we conducted two cross-sectional studies with first-generation African migrant people living in Italy, a country that like other Southern European states has in the last decades received augmented immigration from countries (notably, African countries; Panebianco, 2019) that have suffered growing poverty and conflict.
