In the last century, researchers began to explore suitable IR NLO materials in chalcophosphates and discovered that InPS 4 as well as Sn 2 P 2 S 6 exhibited a strong SHG response, large band gap, and proper birefringence. Afterward, Kanatzidis’ group successfully synthesized a series of alkali selenophosphates and then thoroughly investigated their novel structures and NLO performance.
