“…The A549/CDDP cell line is a cell model which is most commonly used to study platinumresistant of lung cancer. 10,11 Since resistant cell line and its parental cell line are homologous, they are often used in the comparative studies for drug resistance. [12][13][14] Among the profile generated by miRNA microarray, miR-21, with well reported oncogenic activity in various cancers, is highly expressed in the platinum-resistant A549/CDDP cell line compared with its parent A549 cell line.…”

“…ERCC1 is a key factor involved in nuclear excision repair (NER) for platinum induced adducts [13]. There is observation of platinum resistance in lung cancer A549 cells lines with high expression of ERCC1 [14], and increased clinical evidence that overexpression of ERCC1 in NSCLC inhibits platinum efficacy. In addition to ERCC1 negative tumors appear to benefit from cisplatin based chemotherapy, it also gains benefit from overall survival as a prognostic factor [2,15,16].…”

“…The human lung adenocarcinoma cell lines A549 and A549/DDP (cisplatin-resistant variant) were graciously provided by Dr. Xiaofeng Zhu, Sun Yat-sen University [ 23 ]. The lung cancer cell lines NCI-H460 (H460) and H460/DDP (cisplatin-resistant variant) were graciously provided by Dr. Liwu Fu, Sun Yat-sen University [ 24 ].…”
