This paper examines the continuous intention by healthcare professionals to use the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) in combination with responsible artificial intelligence (AI). Using the theory of Diffusion of Innovation (DOI), a model was developed to determine the continuous intention to use IoMT taking into account the risks and complexity involved in using AI. Data was gathered from 276 healthcare professionals through a survey questionnaire across hospitals in Bahrain. Empirical outcomes reveal nine significant relationships amongst the constructs. The findings show that despite contradictions associated with AI, continuous intention to use behaviour can be predicted during the diffusion of IoMT. This study advances the understanding of the role of responsible AI in the continued use of IoMT in healthcare and extends DOI to address the diffusion of two innovations concurrently.

Assistive robotic systems could be a suitable solution to support a variety of health and care services, help independent living, and even simulate affection, to reduce loneliness. However, adoption is limited by several issues, as well as user concerns about ethics, data security, and privacy. Other than the common threats related to internet connectivity, personal robotic systems have advanced interaction possibilities, such as audio, video, touch, and gestures, which could be exploited to gain access to private data that are stored in the robot. Therefore, novel, safer methods of interaction should be designed to safeguard users’ privacy. To solicit further research on secure and private multimodal interaction, this article presents a thorough study of the state-of-the-art literature on data security and user privacy in interactive social robotic systems for health and care. In our study, we focus on social robotics to assist older people, which is a global challenge that is receiving a great deal of attention from the robotics and social care communities. This application will have a significant positive impact on the economy and society, but poses various security and privacy issues. This article analyses the key vulnerable areas where data leakage could occur during a multimodal interaction with a personal assistive robotic system. Thus, blockchain with a resource-aware framework, along with a continuous multifactor authentication mechanism, are envisaged as a potential solution for making such systems secure by design; therefore, increasing trust, acceptability, and adoption. Among the key cybersecurity research challenges, it is crucial to create an intelligent mechanism that autonomously determines the right trade-off between continuous user prompts and system usability, according to data types and personal preferences.

Web of things (WoT) is an improved and most promising infrastructure of the internet of things (IoT) which permits the smart things to not only integrate to the internet but also to the web. It allows the users to share and create content as well as provide capabilities for data aggregation and analysis through a network to become part of the World Wide Web (W3). Despite these advances, it has shown several security challenges that need to be addressed for the successful deployment of WoT on a commercially variable and large scale. In this paper, authors have analyzed the most noticeable security challenges related to WoT such as unauthorized access, eavesdropping, denial of service attack, tempering, and impersonating, through an analysis of already published empirical studies. Further, we have discussed some of the available mechanisms to overcome security related issues while taking into account the network size and mobility. Authors have used Threat analysis and attack modeling methods to inform the users about defensive measures and to prevent security threats from taking advantage of system flaws Authors have provided the necessary insight into how security can be improved by using certain existing mechanisms and algorithms. The findings of the study revealed that security mechanisms to secure WoT are still immature and future research is required to resolve these challenges.
