The Polarization of Real Estate Ownership and Increasing Wealth Inequality in Spain

Abstract: Recent research has shown that differences in the distribution of real estate wealth across households are the most important explanation for cross-national variation in wealth inequality. We extend this line of research by quantifying to what extent real estate wealth can also explain increases in wealth inequality over time.
