“…Also, the calculated equilibrium uptake of Procion Blue onto AS-Sorbents (q e ) of the pseudo-second-order model is closer to the data attained from the experimental results with slightly lower values that signify the process is more complicated than the model described. Further, comparing the kinetic constants of the suggested model, K 2 , with those in the literature for similar adsorption systems indicates a reasonable comparable (El-Mekkawi et al 2016;Li et al 2016;Poormand et al 2017).…”

“…The endothermic nature of adsorption can be attributed to increase in the mobility of the heavy metal ions and increase in the rate of diffusion of the adsorbate molecules across the external boundary layer and in the internal pores of the adsorbent particle, because of the decrease in the viscosity of the solution. Otherwise, negative ΔG° values show the feasibility and spontaneity of the adsorption process, and the positive ΔS° values show that affinity of metal ions is sufficient to stick on the carbon surface and randomness at the interface of AC-metal solution interphase increased during this process (Li et al 2016;Enniya et al 2018).…”

“…Higher negative value of Δ G 0 at elevated temperature indicated better performance of the adsorbents. The value of Δ S 0 was found to be positive indicating an affinity of metal ion is sufficient to stick on the carbon surface, and increased randomness at the solid–liquid interface along with some structural changes in the adsorbate and the adsorbent (Enniya, Rghioui, & Jourani, 2018; Li et al, 2016).…”
