The prevalence of stress, anxiety, and depression is a topic of concern for general population but also for the educational context. Consequently, due to the great rates of anxiety, depression, and stress problems in undergraduates, the use of a standardized instrument to accurately detect these constructs in the university context is needed. As a result, the present study pretends to examine the psychometric characteristics of the online version of the short Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scales (DASS-21) in Ecuadorian university sample, including the validation, and the testing of factorial invariance and latent differences analyses based on sex. The total of individuals that formed the sample were 3,060 students (M age = 22.7, SD = 2.46) from the Central University of Ecuador, and they participated via the internet, fulfilling the 21 items that formed the DASS-21. Regarding the results, the three-factor structure of the online version of the DASS-21 was confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis, adequate internal consistency values and factorial invariance based on sex were confirmed, and no statistically significant latent mean differences in the scale across sex were found. In consequence, the results of the current investigation give a reliable, consistent, and online measure of stress, anxiety, and depression, which could help to assess and treat emotional problems originated among the Ecuadorian university population. Public Significance StatementThe present study validated a Spanish and online version of the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scales (DASS-21) among Ecuadorian university students. The prevalence of depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms in the educational context is high. Consequently, the present study has confirmed the factorial invariance and the nonexistence of statistically significant differences in the latent scores across sex. These findings allow the possibility of measuring the scores of depression, anxiety, and stress without bias in a new reality provoked by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in which paper questionnaires could be replaced by online questionnaires.

Transformative Leadership to Enhance the Quality of Madrasa in the Covid-19 Outbreak: Learning Organization Perspective

This study aims to identify the implementation of transformative leadership in a madrasa in East Java. It was based on Peter Senge's learning organization theory. Moreover, this study employed quantitative descriptive research using the online survey method. It involved the leaders and the teachers of madrasa in East Java. The data was taken from February to April 2021. The respondents were 90 leaders and the teachers of all levels of madrasa – MI, MTs, and MA. It used random sampling. The researcher gathered the data from the questionnaires through Google Forms. Then, the data were analyzed descriptively. Based on Peter Senge's five-learning organization, transformative leadership implementation was found in madrasa during the Covid-19 outbreak. First, the systems thinking of teachers and education staff in madrasa during the outbreak had two indicators. The transformation of the madrasa service system based on some considerations is 75%. The curriculum adjustment also is 79%. Second, the implementation of personal mastery was through two indicators – learning new things and facing the challenges is 78%, and relevant learning method innovation is 81%. Third, the mental model is based on two indicators. They are the thinking skills quality improvement for better competence is 78% and improving the school system focused on the service quality is 83%. Fourth is the implementation of a shared vision which is based on two indicators. 79% of schools' communities comprehend the school vision. It also shows that the task completion based on the school vision is 86%. Fifth, team learning is based on two indicators. The peer group sharing habit is 90%, and fostering a dialogue culture with the leaders to improve school quality is 87%. In conclusion, this study shows that the implementation of transformative leadership enhances the madrasas’ quality amidst the covid-19 based on a learning organization perspective.

There are three objectives to be achieved in this study (1) to determine the application of elearning learning for students of Islamic Junior High School, Al-Hasyimiyyah Islamic boarding school during the Covid-19 pandemic; 2) to find out the problems of e-learning learning for students of the Islamic Junior High School of Al-Hasyimiyyah Islamic boarding school during the Covid-19 pandemic; 3) to describe the solution in overcoming the problems of e-learning learning for students during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Islamic Junior High School, Al-Hasyimiyyah Islamic Boarding School, Kotawaringin Barat. Qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The results that the authors get from this research are: (1) students have participated in e-learning learning activities (learning from home) in accordance with the Circular of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia number 4 of 2020; 2) problems originating from the students, the environment, and the economy; 3) In the pesantren world, an important part of the Teaching and Learning Activity (KBM) for students is not only the transfer of knowledge, but also the cultivation of life values based on Akhlakul Karimah (commendable behavior). For science, maybe it can be done online / online, but this is not the case with character building because it requires exemplary and cool gazes from ustadz and pesantrencaregivers. 4) In terms of students, their psychology fails to focus because of the various trinkets of life at home that interfere with learning concentration, plus tasks that must be done without any interaction with teachers and ustadz / ustadzah. Apart from the internet network factor, the lack of adequate companions at home, also a low learning ethos because their learning environment is not a learning atmosphere as in the pesantren.
