The process of student analytical thinking in understanding and applying lattice method to solve mathematical problem

Abstract: One of the educational objectives that is to improve analytical thinking skills. An improvement in analytical thinking skills can be initiated by analyzing the student’s thinking process when faced with a new problem. Meanwhile, the Lattice Method is a method of multiplication which is very rarely taught in the school so that few students know about. Therefore, this research aims to describe the process of analytical thinking students in understanding and applying the Lattice Method to solve mathematical probl… Show more

“…A problem-solving study is required to find out the location or position of mistakes do it by students in solving story problems on linear equations in three-variable (SPLTV) material (Annizar, Lestari, et al, 2021;Masruroh et al, 2021;Sakdiyah & Annizar, 2021). As displayed in the previous presentation, the researcher assessed the importance of conducting research by saying, "Analysis of Student Problem-Solving Errors builds upon Newman's Theory in Terms of Learning Interest and Gender."…”

“…However, from the results of the study conducted by PISA, it was found that the problem solving abilities of students in Indonesia are still relatively low. This means there is homework for youteachers can monitor the development of students' problem-solving abilities to find out the level of their problem-solving abilities and which areas need to be improved (Annizar et al, 2021;Subakri & Annizar, 2021). Even though there has been a lot of research that examines student problem solving in Indonesia, it is still not known with certainty the root of the problem of students' relatively low problem solving skills.…”
