Abstract:Acne vulgaris is multifactorial in origin where Propionibacterium acnes and altered keratinisation are some of the factors which contribute to the inflammation and obstruction of the pilosebaceous unit. Acne causes the formation of pleomorphic lesions like comedones, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts which may lead to scarring.
