“…This study has provided evidence on the profile of nurses regarding the utilisation of and attitude towards ND. Previous studies have found a strong direct relationship between attitudes towards ND and the behaviour of using ND in their professional practice worldwide (D'Agostino et al, ; Netto & Almeida, ; Romero‐Sánchez et al, ). The results obtained in this study support this statement, as it was found that nurses with a more positive attitude towards ND are the ones who most frequently used it.…”

“…ND and nursing documentation are related concepts, as ND is considered a core element of nursing records that helps to avoid redundancy and encourage nurses to structure better their reports (Wilkinson, ). Nevertheless, although the type of management appears to be a factor that only influences attitudes towards ND, this should be considered a positive element for the given health care organisation, as, in previous studies, a favourable attitude has been associated with a higher utilisation in different types of institution (D'Agostino et al, ; Guedes et al, ; Romero‐Sánchez et al, ).…”

“…The German PND version has been previously evaluated (Leoni‐Scheiber, Gothe, & Müller‐Staub, ). The psychometric properties of the original PND showed favourable results: its content validity exceeded an agreement of 90% by four expert raters (Lunney & Krenz, ), the test–retest reliability as measured by intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.90 (95% CI [0.87, 0.92]), and the internal consistency as measured by Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.96 (Romero‐Sánchez, Paloma‐Castro, et al, ). The construct validity was measured by confirmatory factor analysis and showed highly correlated factors in the three‐factor model solution (≥0.96) (D'Agostino et al, ).…”
