Abstract:Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease caused by metabolic disorders that occur in the pancreas which are characterized by an increase in blood sugar or often referred to as hyperglycemia due to a decrease in the amount of insulin from the pancreas (American Diabetes Association, 2012).
