“…It is based on the assumption that monocular amblyopic patients will show a preference for fixation with one eye, whereas nonamblyopic patients will tend to alternate fixation or hold fixation well with the nondominant eye. Since then, other authors [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] have studied the test's accuracy and have proposed different criteria for observing fixation preference. Amblyopia is diagnosed when holding time is either less than 3 seconds 5,9,10 or less than 5 seconds.…”
