The Removal of Inclusions with Different Diameters in Tundish by Channel Induction Heating: A Numerical Simulation Study

Abstract: The quality of the slab will be impacted by the non-metallic impurities in the molten steel in the tundish, which will reduce the plasticity and fatigue life of the steel. In this research, a mathematical model of a six-flow double-channel T-shaped induction heating tundish was established, the effects of induction heating conditions on the removal of inclusions in the tundish were investigated, and the impact of various inclusion particle sizes on the removal effect of inclusions under induction heating was e… Show more

“…The molten steel in the tundish flows according to the continuity equation, the Navier-Stokes equation, and the k-ε equation, which are applied to the calculation of flow field physics. The energy conservation equation governs the heat transmission of molten steel [17,18] and is used in fluid heat transfer physics.…”

“…This allows the treatment of new a old grades as separate components to study the steel grade transition in the tundish. T numerical simulations of the tundish flow field [19][20][21][22][23][24][25] and numerical simulations of F-EMS electromagnetic field [26][27][28][29][30] have become relatively mature. This paper does delve further into the modeling process for the tundish steel grade transition and F-EM The steel grade transition of a bloom encompasses various intricate physical p nomena, including fluid flow, heat transfer, solidification, an electromagnetic field, a solute transport.…”

“…Yi et al established a six-flow double-channel T-shaped induction heating tundish mathematical model. The effects of induction heating conditions on the removal of inclusions in the tundish were investigated, and the impact of various inclusion particle sizes on the removal effect of inclusions under induction heating was explored [15]. The effect of Cu on the formation of reversed austenite in super martensitic stainless steel was investigated by Jiang et al using X-ray diffraction (XRD), a transmission electron microscope (TEM), and an energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS) [16].…”
