The Risk Assessment of Debris Flow Hazards in Banshanmen Gully Based on the Entropy Weight‐Normal Cloud Method

Abstract: The debris flow is one of the geological hazards; its occurrence is complex, fuzzy, and random. And it is affected by many indices; a new multi-index assessment method is proposed to analyze the risk level of debris flow based on the entropy weight-normal cloud model in Banshanmen gully. The index weight is calculated by using the entropy weight method. Then, the certainty degree of each index belonging to the corresponding cloud is obtained by using the cloud model. The final risk level of debris flow is dete… Show more

“…Many researchers have investigated the quality level assessments of surrounding rocks [6], in many countries. Many methods are applied to analyze the quality of surrounding rocks [7], especially with the development of mathematics and computer technology; the applied mathematical statistics method, clustering partition method [8], and fuzzy mathematics theory [9] have been used to partition the quality of surrounding rocks successfully, such as the Grey theory method [10], the neural network method [11], Fisher discriminant analysis method [12], the classication of probability theory [13], and extension classication method [14]. e application of these methods shown in Table 1 makes the quality assessment of surrounding rocks more reasonable, but they still have some shortcomings [15].…”

“…In addition, the AHP combined with the cloud model was also applied to the roof risk assessment [25] to achieve accurate identification of the accident risk of the roof of the comprehensive mining workings. The successful application of this method in the fields of ecological environment assessment [26], comprehensive risk assessment of computer host safety [27] and slope stability assessment [28,29] proves that the method can assess the fusion of qualitative and quantitative indexes in multiple dimensions and provide a scientific and objective description of the fuzziness and uncertainty of each index.…”

“…Researchers have developed many methods to assess the quality level of pavement performance [2]. For example, the system analysis evaluation method [3], the comprehensive evaluation method [4], the extension cloud evaluation method [5], the extension evaluation method [6], the fuzzy compound matter element method [7], the gray fuzzy clustering method [8], the regression analysis method [9], the multivariate statistical techniques [10], the wavelet technique [11], and evaluation method using analytical connection coe cients [12].…”
