“…Our results on regulators influence on antioxidant enzyme activities of cashew apple, although, contradict those of Ding et al (2015), who found higher CAT and SOD activities in cherry tomatoes treated with GA3, and those of Mohamed et al (2014), who reported the preharvest GA3 treatment on 'Barhee' dates promoted CAT activity. Saeed et al (2014) also reported that exogenous GA3 application enhanced SOD activity during storage of cut gladiolus flower.…”

“…GA3 effects on fruit firmness has been associated to a reduction in approximately 10% of LP degree of cherry tomatoes (Ding et al, 2015), contrasting with what was here reported for cashew apples, and to inhibition of PG activity in 'Barhee' dates (Mohamed et al, 2014). Although in the current research there was no significant difference between control and AVG treatment regarding fruit firmness, previous studies have demonstrated a positive effect of AVG on firmness of peach, apple and persimmon (Hawerroth et al, 2011;Yildiz et al, 2012;Brackmann et al, 2013).…”

“…It was shown that endogenous GA levels were positively associated with chilling stress tolerance: GA3 treatment increased chilling tolerance with decreased electrolyte leakage and malondialdehyde content, increased proline content, and improved antioxidant enzyme activities. Treatment with GA inhibitors exacerbated chilling injury (Ding et al, 2015). This may explain that in our study, we detected WRKY genes with GA inhibitor response of seedlings, and WRKY genes were also associated with seedling chilling tolerance in previous studies.…”

“…The specific gene primers used for target genes and actin for qRT-PCR are shown in Table S1. Actin has been used as a reference gene in chilling-treated tomatoes4647484950. Changes in the mRNA level of target gene in each treatment were normalized against that of actin .…”
