The automotive industry has come a long way since its starting with a horseless carriage in the 1860s. The automotive sector is regarded as an important driver of economic growth. The paper looks into the ongoing development in the automobile industry. The current study is explanatory in nature and gathers data on the automobile industry. It provides in-depth knowledge of the most recent developments in this sector. The results show that the Asian market, with its availability of a large and cheap labour force and growing market, has seen significant maturation. In contrast, with its culture of research and innovation and the presence of major automobile companies, the European market has been able to draw growth from other parts of the globe, which has ultimately allowed them to maintain their stance in the market. There has been massive development in the automobile sector in recent years. But an increasing number of competitors, environmental laws and other multiple factors are affecting the industry. The findings implies that these factors need to be properly tracked as it plays a crucial role to predict the future market and helps in better understanding the automobile market to gain sustainable competitive advantage.

This paper reports a second order structural equation model (SEM) with four latent variables and six hypotheses to analyze the Planning, Execution, and Control of the information and communication technologies (ICT) implementation in supply chains (SC) and the operational Benefits obtained. The model is validated with information obtained from 80 responses to a questionnaire applied direct to manufacturing companies in Baja California state (Mexico), specifically in Ensenada, Mexicali, Tecate, and Tijuana municipalities. The variables are statistically validated using the Cronbach’s alpha index for internal and R-squared for predictive validity. Partial least squares algorithms are used to validate the model’s hypotheses in software WarpPLS version7.0 ScripWarp Systems, Laredo, TX, US. Findings indicate that the direct impact of Execution and Control is positive and therefore are the basis for successful integration of ICT and obtaining agility and flexibility benefits in the SC.

This paper presents the performance comparison of Lightweight Agents, Single Mobile Intelligent Agents and Remote Procedure Call which are tools for implementing communication in a distributed computing environment. Routing algorithms for each scheme is modeled based on TSP. The performance comparison among the three schemes is based on bandwidth overhead with retransmission, system throughput and system latency. The mathematical model for each performance metric is presented, from which mathematical model is derived for each scheme for comparison. The simulation results show that the LWAs has better performance than the other two schemes in terms of small bandwidth retransmission overhead, high system throughput and low system latency. The Bernoulli random variable is used to model the failure rate of the simulated network which is assumed to have probability of success p = 85% and the probability of failure q = 15%. The network availability is realized by multiplicative pseudorandom number generator during the simulation. The results of simulation are presented.
