The Role of Internet of Services (IoS) on Industry 4.0 Through the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

Abstract: Many different concepts and approaches have been seen for an Industry 4.0 achievement. In the attempt of merging the theory to the practice, there are gaps to determine which concept or technology suits best the productive chain and what is really a pre-requisite to classify it as Industry 4.0. On scientific and empirical literature about this subject, the Internet of Services, IoS, has been mentioned as an important pillar for Industry 4.0, coupled with Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber-physical systems (CPS… Show more

“…Efficiency of the of the 3PLs' performances could become close, so it is better to distinguish efficient DMUs from each other by developing model in a way to measure super-efficiency scores too. One-stage model to simultaneously measure the efficiency of the inefficient DMUs and super-efficiency scores of the efficient DMUs is developed as Model 3 based on the study of [79] and can be seen in model with Equations ( 17)- (38).…”

“…Most SOA tools are tailored to business processes and do not have strict resource requirements. Coming from the IT world and adapted to the industrial domain, an SOA relies on a single and integrated communication channel, called the service bus [8] where different robots, machines and applications are available for the manufacturing process as shown in Figure 5. This architecture allows flexibility of flows, and facilitates the reconfigurability of production workshops.…”
