Over some decades, tourism industry has significantly developed along with the development of new technology. Technology can be applied in almost all phases of the travelling cycle: before, during and after the trip. Studies on tourism and technology mostly indicated that technological achievements applied in tourism would bring along new development, making tourism easier and more convenient. Within such researches, steps of tourism behaviors from searching, booking to experiencing and sharing have been taken into account; only the dreaming phase including tourism needs and motivation has not been paid much attention to. Based on a survey of 500 tourists who live, work or study in Ho Chi Minh City, this paper aims at exploring the impacts of technology application on tourism motivation. The result showed that technology application in tourism does have positive impacts on tourism motivation, strengthening the role of technology in making travelling easier and more convenient will create more motivation for travel.
