The paper aims to investigate the status and progress of scientific research and innovation in the tourism industry, with special reference to studies that have been conducted on tourism destinations and social media channels. The research involved the analysis of 50 papers in the last 5 years from the highest cited journals, regarding methods and benefits of adopting new technologies on tourism destinations. This article makes an overview of the selected theme and lists the major research topics on implementing social media, user-generated contents and crowd sourcing for the development of tourism destinations. Moreover, it deliberates on the diffusion of user-generated technologies, explores most popular media channels, and names academic journals which published the selected papers in this context. The results serve to point out major trends and gaps in which to focus future research on this topic and also they might be useful in formulating public policies and strategies in the development of tourism destinations.
The development of modern forms of social organization on conditions of prosperity and deepening of influence on human life of the information society affects all the elements of the society mechanism, and especially the public administration's subsystem, in the first turn. Acting as a subject of public administration, the modern state gradually alters its functions by passing their significant part to the regional and local level, creating the more efficient decentralized model of public administration. The decentralization processes have become an integral feature of modern democracies. Sometimes these processes occur quite painfully for both young democracies and for the states with the stable democratic traditions. The experience of the countries testifies that the decentralization is an objective condition for the public administration's adaptation to the social changes, taking place in the sphere of the interrelations of the state and its territorial elements. The redistribution of the power authorities for the benefit of the territorial communities becomes an important problem for the young democracies, the solvation of which testifies to the degree of their entrance into the developed information society.
Nowadays, trend towards the online hotel booking has been increased throughout the world. Hotels can directly offer online room booking service to prospective customers through their website, which reduces the need of booking through giant commercial online hotel booking services. Main objective of this article is to analyze and have an actual picture of the online booking systems in the hotels of Uzbekistan. With the aim of meeting the objective of the article the qualitative method shall be used by conducting the website analysis, personal evaluation, and open to public statistics resources. The paper will be based on the literature review of similar research conducted by other authors within the area of online hotel booking, which brings great interest to the researchers, since there is very little research has been conducted on same area in Uzbekistan, which makes it very difficult to obtain valid resource which would demonstrate the current online hotel booking service level integration in the country. In conclusion, the results of the research shall be presented, where the current situation of online booking services by hotels’ website would be represented with the present features used by the local hotels, along with the areas for further development and recommendations will be made in order to boost the development of the country hotels’ online booking systems.
