The Scientific Investigation of Marine Fires and Explosions

Abstract: A B S T R A C TThe forensic investigation of a marine fire or explosion must be carried out using a structured methodology such as the scientific method. The investigation will include a preliminary inspection to establish the area of origin of the fire or explosion, followed by a detailed examination using various techniques to identify the fuel first ignited and the ignition source.
