Lin et al [60] study the experience of travel time and find that cognitive distances are systematically underestimated at short ranges (<150 km) and overestimated at long ranges (>250 km). This result may support the idea that travel times are important as short distances of up to 150 km will involve trips near the average daily TTB of 60-70 minutes [52], making the trip 'feel short', while distances above 250 km will take much longer making their 'feel' to be rather long.…”
