“…The 3-D coil-pipe is the assembly of two coaxial abruptly bent pipes (external pipe is Ø56 mm × 2 mm and internal one is Ø38 mm × 2 mm; the serpentine pitch is 100 mm and identical both in toroidal and poloidal direction) that are arranged in radial direction. The assembling technology of this coaxial coil-pipe is identical to the technology which has been used for the RF helium-cooled TBM and presented in details in [4,5]. It is necessary to underline that this arrangement of serpentine elbows creates the significant non-uniformity of the specific heat in the breeder in radial direction.…”

“…This fact could cause the high temperature differences in the BZSM materials, nonuniformity of tritium generation in the breeder and decrease the coolant outlet temperature. In order to create the required profile of the specific heat in breeder the straight sections of internal coilpipe [4,5] are filled with cylindrical ceramic pellets (Ø30 mm with 10 mm height and Ø20 mm with 10 mm height depending upon the position inside the pipe), while the ceramic pebble-bed (spheres Ø0.5-1 mm) is arranged inside the U-shaped sections. It is possi- ble to obtain the required profile of specific heat in the breeder in radial direction (and as a consequence-the required temperature fields in the materials and tritium generation rate in the breeder) by the variation of 6 Li-isotope enrichment (increasing of enrichment as farther away from the first wall) in the pellets.…”

“…the breeder and multiplier are in separate panels and cooled by the cooling plate; and (b) a BIT (breeder inside tube) scheme, i.e. the inside tubes hold the breeder and the coolant flow in the annulus, and the multiplier fills the space between the tubes [8,9] . For the BIT scheme, the BIT unit can be pre-fabricated and may simplify the assembly of the blanket components.…”
