The Use of Acoustic Effects for the Prevention and Elimination of Fires as an Element of Modern Environmental Technologies

Abstract: The paper studies the current state of the art in the use of acoustic effects in the prevention and elimination of fires. For this purpose, the literature review method was applied. The well-known approaches to fire extinguishing and their impact on the environment are considered. Multifaceted studies by a wide range of scientists on the possibilities of the acoustic effect in fire extinguishing are noted. The analysis of literary sources showed the negative impact of both the fires themselves and the majority… Show more

“…Furthermore, scholars [88] underline that green investment could be effective if the government provides effective environmental policies and planning and control mechanisms for environmental investments, expenditure, and projects. Past studies [89][90][91][92][93][94][95][96][97][98] have analyzed the impact of green investment at the local or company level. Based on empirical findings, scholars [89][90][91][92][93][94][95][96][97][98] show that green investment is conducive to a company's green performance, which is the core element for a country's green economic growth.…”

“…The acoustic fire extinguisher developed in [41] emits a focused acoustic beam to put out flames. It is possible to calculate the acoustic pressure reserve required under non-laboratory conditions, which is the additional pressure needed beyond the minimum required to achieve the extinguishing effect [1], [41]. This research has also shown that the use of acoustic waves of different frequencies can be an effective way of extinguishing flames, which may prove crucial in situations where traditional firefighting methods are ineffective, especially in locations where such methods are unavailable.…”

“…Fires pose a significant threat to the safety of living beings, the environment and property, which has led to the development of advanced methods for flame detection (first aspect of fire management) and flame extinguishing (the second aspect of fire management) [1]. In recent years, effective and environmentally safe flame extinguishing techniques have been sought.…”

“…Over-exploitation of deposits resulting in an imbalance in ecosystems, combined with critical levels of discharges and emissions of toxic substances-with particular reference to greenhouse gases-are the primary conditions for the global warming taking place, changing the world in an absolutely undesirable direction. Wide-ranging protection of the planet and care for the environment are currently critical priorities in modelling economic changes, finding their outlet in the creation of numerous innovative solutions [1]. These priorities, to a particular extent, refer to energy production, for decades occupying an infamous place in the world ranking of industries with the strongest negative impact on the climate and the planet.…”
