The Use of Chronic Transfusions in Sickle Cell Disease for Non-Stroke Related Indications

Abstract: Introduction: Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a chronic disease that can cause significant complications including acute chest syndrome, recurrent pain and stroke. Current guidelines for the use of chronic transfusions include primary and secondary prevention of stroke.
