The Use of Index Approach for Enterprise Energy Strategy Formation

Abstract: Constantly increasing competition in the markets of goods and services determines the need for new ways to improve the competitiveness of the enterprises and its products. The improving of production efficiency depends on various factors, including the energy factor. The rising of energy costs share in total cost of products manufactured by industrial enterprisers, have an increasing impact on the prices level and the products competitiveness. Further improvement of fuel and energy use efficiency will be large… Show more

“…It is worth noting that separation of energy cost as a factor calling for an independent analysis is caused by the fact that high energy intensity of the production complexes operated by the Russian enterprises making part of the petrochemical clusters is the major constraint on improvement of their competitive ability in the world market (Melnik and Lukishina, 2014;Sadriev, 2014;Melnik and Dyrdonova, 2015). It should be pointed out that PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim (NKNK) is the biggest energy consumer compared to other enterprises operating in the petrochemical sector of the Republic of Tatarstan, with NKNK consumption rates reaching 10 % of electric power and 30 % of thermal energy generated by the overall power grid of the region.…”

“…These indicators allow assessment of performance efficiency of the organization as a whole, as well as evaluate profitability of separate areas of business activities (Melnik and Lukishina, 2014;Sadriev, 2014;Melnik and Dyrdonova, 2015). The system of profitability indices reflects the business performance in a better way than, for example, profit indicator because the profitability indices reflect the ratio between the achieved effect as compared to the consumed resources.…”

“…At that the greatest possibilities are open to the companies entered the wholesale market. Market mechanisms being used may ensure the measurable benefits (Melnik & Lukishina, 2014).
