Abstract:The use of conventional 3D seismic data for purposes of shallow engineering evaluation has become more common place in the past three years. Conventional 3D seismic data collected for exploration purposes (4-ms sampling) has been used to evaluate the upper 5000 ft of stratigraphy in the deepwater environment (generally in water depths greater than 1000 ft). The purpose of using these data is to determine whether or not geologic conditions occur, which may prohibit or hinder exploration drilling. In many cases,… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
