“…Among COVID-19 patients, 5 (13.5%) had elevated D-di-mer, and 17 (45.9%) had elevated Fib-C. The increase in Fib-C indicated possibilities of blood coagulation; therefore, there is a need to pay close attention to the risk of deep vein thrombosis [15,16]. Elevated D-dimer is often used as an indicator of pulmonary embolism, but it can also be elevated in inflammatory diseases.…”

“…However, there were some published reports suggesting some clues of the quantitative relationship between D‐dimer and FDP. FDP and D‐dimer levels were comparable in septic patients, plasma FDP showed a linear association with the D‐dimer level ( R 2 = 0.628, P < 0.001) in immune‐deficient mice models, the value of FDP/fibrinogen and D‐dimer/fibrinogen ratios that could predict high‐risk APL related thrombosis were significant, and the International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis criteria for overt DIC use a DIC scoring system based on the combined results of coagulation tests included FDP/D‐dimer ratio (2019) . As such, we considered it might be acceptable to use the conversion values of D‐dimer to those of FDPs in this preliminary retrospective analysis.…”

“…D-dimer levels in patients with DVT are significantly higher than those in the control group. 23 25 However, D-dimer levels do not necessarily indicate the presence of thrombosis, especially for patients older than 80 years in whom the D-dimer threshold should be increased. 26 D-dimer levels of the patients in our study were significantly higher than normal values, and D-dimer levels in the unstable group were significantly higher than those in the stable group.…”
