“…The rate of osteogenesis extending from the bone ends must exceed the rate of fibrous tissue ingrowth [9]. Allografts do finally get incorporated into the host bone so that is impossible to distinguish them from an autograft implanted under the same conditions [9,14,36,41]. We have seen that this incorporation takes time and although is adequate, is not as perfect as normal calvarial bone.…”
