Many studies claim that the model of economic progress that brought comfort and welfare state in developed countries of Europe and North America, which have been exported to developing countries like Brazil, Russian, India, China and South Africa (BRICS), is not possible for the entire population of the planet (Meadows et al, 1972 and1992;United Nations, 1997;Aspalter, 2003). If the conferences of United Nations of the last 40 years have not achieved their goals yet, at least they highlighted that world economic and its social basis are not sustainable; especially if we considered that we going to live in a planet where the population is expected to be about 10 billion by the year 2050 (United Nations, 2010).…”
