“…Therapy relationship research has two focal elements related to the therapeutic alliance and relational dynamics of the psychotherapy interaction. As an element of the therapeutic alliance, investigations of conversations held by therapists and clients have examined affiliation, agreement, empathy or break of collaboration, and resistance patterns (e.g., Cardoso, Pinto, & Ribeiro, 2019;Madill, Widdicombe, & Barkham, 2001;Muntigl & Horvart, 2014).
