“…This can initiate endothermic reaction (650℃ to 660℃) of sand (SiO2) with sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and then form Na2SiO3 and CO2. The results corresponded to the previous work by Kusnierz et al [16]. By further increasing temperature, two-step decomposition of dolomite was found on endothermic peak for both STD and D2 mixture at 717℃ and 817℃.…”

“…This has led us to propose the use of Sb 2 O 3 as a reducing agent in the fabrication of M x WO 3 -doped bulk glass in the present study. On top of acting as a reducing agent, Sb 2 O 3 is a common clarifying agent in the glass fabrication process because it can remove bubbles in glass melts. , This clarifying effect is due to the oxidation of Sb 2 O 3 into Sb 2 O 5 when temperature is raised to 700 °C, and then O 2 is released when Sb 2 O 5 is decomposed back into Sb 2 O 3 when the temperature is raised to above 1175 °C . Oxygen rises through the glass melts and squeezes out smaller bubbles, which would be otherwise sealed inside the bulk glass after cooling …”

“…Above 1000 °C, the eutectic alloy reacts with sand, dissolving in the formed alloy, which can be seen as a broad endothermic activity 1112-1228 °C [7,8]. The study on the admixture of substitute raw materials in the form of cullet and small quantities of slag shows that they have a positive effect on the process of dissolution and melting of glass batches [9]. A change in melting kinetics due to faster eutectic alloy formation improves the homogenization of glass melt in temperatures lower by 20-40 °C.…”
