Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIPs) are a kind of the super-insulated materials (SIMs). VIPs are innovative material in various fields like the building sector as it encompasses a higher thermal resistance per unit of thickness compared to conventional insulation. To extensively use VIPs in the building sector, comprehensive performance analysis, and their properties such as thermal conductivity valuations are required to be done under simulated conditions to evaluate its longterm performance. However, different VIPs have varying durability, and as it stands, there is no comprehensive understanding of how all VIPs will behave in real conditions. This research investigates the effect of multiple variables (such as temperature, relative humidity) on VIP service life. The purpose of this research is to validate the theoretical ageing model of VIPs. First, the experimental thermal conductivity results from seven samples of three different VIP categories are collected using a heat flow meter. To measure the accelerated ageing results over 25 years, Arrhenius equation is applied. Next, NRC theoretical model is used to predict the ageing response of the samples. Finally, an analytical method is employed to verify and validate this model based on the collected data. Results shows that effect of ageing and environmental temperature have higher impacts on the performance of fibreglass panels than the fumed silicas. Additionally, the aging effects analysis reveals that microporous silica VIP products would maintain their superior thermal performance over time. This study aims to design a tool that can measure the heat conductivity of metals by the Probe method. The design method was used by using a heat-flowed metal beam and the use of an LM35 temperature sensor to measure temperature changes on the probe. We are designing a measurement system based on conduction heat transfer. The metal used in the design is aluminum and carbon steel. For each metal tested, an LM35 temperature sensor is placed on the metal to find out that a temperature change has occurred. The conductivity value can be obtained from the temperature difference between the probe and the metal being tested, the temperature change of the probe, the temperature change of the metal being tested, and the heating time. This value is processed and calculated by the microcontroller into the value of heat conductivity. The measurement results show that the average heat conductivity value is 214.93 W/moC for aluminum and 53.81 W/moC for carbon steel.

Improving the energy efficiency of the buildings is one of the most effective and fastest ways of reduction of the carbon dioxide emission. However, in the assessment of the energy demand of the buildings, numerous factors are uncertain, i.e. layer thickness, material parameters, climatic conditions, etc. In the present study, mathematical model was developed for analyzing temperature distribution and heat flux in the wall with thermal conductivity of insulation as a random parameter. The results obtained employing a stochastic perturbation technique were compared against the results of the Monte Carlo simulation. Stochastic perturbation technique has been implemented using the tenth order Taylor series expansion. The direct differential method was used to determine the values of Taylor’s coefficient. The obtained results indicate good accordance of the stochastic perturbation technique with the Monte Carlo method. Afterwards, the expected value of the heat flux and its variance were studied for the reference year for a city in the Central Europe. Two cases of the external wall were investigated, in which the thermal insulation was localized either on the internal or the external side of the wall. Performed analyses serve as a good method for assessing the reliability of results obtained using standard, deterministic approach.
