Thermo‐Responsive Structure and Surface Activity of Kinetically Stabilized Micelle Composed of Fluorinated Alternating Peptides in Organic Solvent

Abstract: Three‐component polycondensation with an aldehyde, perfluoroalkylammonium triflate, and potassium isocyanoacetate produced amphiphilic fluorinated alternating peptides. The polymers work as a surfactant, which form associates in organic solvent. The thermo‐dependent structures and surface activity of the associates in organic solvents were evaluated by the results of UV‐vis and diffusion‐ordered NMR spectral measurements at various concentrations and temperatures. It also turned out that the regularly aligned … Show more

“…For the elucidation of such unusual tendency of cloud points, we next estimated the difference of hydrodynamic radius ( R h ) between HE-Pep and Pr-Pep [24]. With the use of an Einstein−Stokes equation ( R h = k B T/6πη D , k B : Boltzmann constant, T: absolute temperature, η: viscosity, D : diffusion coefficient), we performed diffusion-ordered NMR spectroscopic (DOSY) measurements to evaluate the diffusion coefficients of each polymer at 25 °C in both D 2 O (Figures S2, S7, S12, S17 and S22) and CF 3 COOD (trifluoroacetic acid, TFA- d , Figures S1, S6, S11, S16 and S21).…”

“…Plasmid-based micelles of two chemotherapeutic medicines (Dox and Tax) combined with polyethylene glycol and poly (D,L-lactic acid-co-glycolide) showed synergistic cytotoxicity and increased therapeutic effectiveness against breast cancer with triple-negative status [66]. Recently, polyglycoside-based materials and alternating peptides in the field of self-assembled nanocarriers have attracted the focus of researchers [67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74].…”

“…Polymers have widespread applications not only in solution chemistry [29][30][31][32][33][34][35] but also for advanced materials [36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44]. Because of the most recent advances in polymer technology and material science, it is now possible to create highly selective molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs).…”
