Threading Chalcogenide Layers with Polymer Chains

Abstract: Inserting polymers into a crystalline inorganic matrix to understand the structure, position, and the structure-property relationships of the resulting composites is important for designing new inorganic-organic materials and tuning their properties. Single crystals of polymer-chalcogenide composites were successfully prepared by trapping polyethyleneglycol within a selenidostannate matrix under surfactant-thermal conditions. This work might provide a new strategy for preparing novel crystalline polymer-inorga… Show more

“…acidic, basic, neutral, cationic, anionic, or even block), surfactants, as the efficient reaction media, have been successfully used to prepare novel chalcogenides by Zhang group [33][34][35][36]. Recently, the use of surfactants for preparing inorganic quaternary chalcogenides has been further developed by our group [37,38].…”

“…Important studies on characterization, crystallization kinetics and optical constants have recently been reported [5][6][7]. Furthermore, these materials have been subject of intensive research with application of new synthetic methods, such as the surfactant-thermal method [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12] with aim to control the sizes and shapes of nano-crystals.…”

“…For decades, many solid state materials have been explored and developed as white light emitting sources. These include inorganic oxide, inorganic quantum dots, nitride, organic molecules, polymers, and metal complexes [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]. Common approaches, such as dichromatic, tri-chromatic, and tetra-chromatic methods are often used to generate white light [13][14][15].…”
