“…This is probably because the synthetic isomers of all-rac-TOC are accumulated in the liver, owing to the preference of TOC transfer protein (α-TTP) for secreting the natural RRR-stereoisomer of TOC into lipoproteins (30,31) . Il'ina et al (32) found that the TOC concentration was higher in the kidneys than in the liver in both wild and farmed mink. However, the TOC supplementation of the farmed mink in their study was not provided; therefore, the opposite relation between TOC concentrations in the liver and the kidneys in the present study could be a consequence of the dose of TOC supplied in the feed in the two studies, respectively.…”
