“…In normal science the techniques and methodologies separate the subject from the object (the researchers from the researched). The reason for this is that in normal science, the ethical (scientific) concepts of objectivity and universality are extremely important, while in practice-based (action) research different kinds of ethical concepts, such as participatory democracy, empowerment and social justice -in the interests of knowledge production and not for scientific reasons -play an important role (in this respect, see extensively Boog et al, 2008).
