Trace Elements Risk Assessment in Taps Drinking Water of Ramadi City, Anbar Province, Iraq

Abstract: The main target of this research is to assess the risk exposure into specified trace elements (TEs) in taps drinking water of Ramadi city, western Iraq. Non-carcinogenic risks (Hazardous Index) for adults and children were estimated, and carcinogenic risks (CR) were determined. Results obtained in this research indicate that the non-carcinogenic risks (NCR) analysis of (TEs) for adults and children were the most hazardous quotient (HQ) of all (TEs) values, which were less than 1, except for (As). The hazardous… Show more

“…The total influence of individual HMs on the quality of surface water is represented by this index. Each HM is assigned a score based on its relative importance, which is inversely proportional to the suggested standard value for that HM [25]. In this study, the weighting value is inversely proportional to the standard value based on the Eq.…”

“…When HPI is greater than 100, it means the water is unsafe for human consumption [8,24]. The minus sign (-) denotes the numerical difference between the two numbers, with the algebraic sign being ignored [25]. WHO recommendations were used to calculate the maximum concentration limit (MCL) [26].…”
