Combination of Transactional Analysis Therapy and Hypnotherapy in the Treatment of Emotional Conflicts: A Case Study in Iran

The purpose of this study is to introduce a successful combination of transactional analysis therapy and hypnotherapy in the treatment of clients with emotional conflicts. The client was a 38-year-old woman who had visited a clinic due to family conflicts with her husband. Following the first stage of therapy, the family conflicts were resolved by problem focus therapy, so the client stopped the therapy. Yet she revisited the psychological clinic after three months. In the second six sessions, initially Transactional Analysis was used to solve the emotional conflicts. At the end of the sixth session, though, the therapist realized that some of the conflicts had remained unresolved. Therefore, the therapist decided to recreate the principles of transnational analysis indirectly through hypnotic trance and used this synthetic approach to act out emotionally and resolved the conflicts. In the follow-up sessions after the hypnotherapy, the client appeared stable and the therapist witnessed no disturbance in the client’s behaviors and emotions. The client’s emotional conflicts had been resolved.

Fenomena yang terjadi sekarang ini, individu tidak peduli dengan lingkungan sosialnya, tidak mau tau dengan lingkungan, tidak tau lagi cara berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Perlu adanya upaya preventif yang dilakukan oleh pihak terkait seperti konselor untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini. Salah satu pelayanan konseling yang dapat dilakukan melalui pelayanan konseling dengan pendekatan analisis transaksional . Artikel ini membahas tentang konseling analisis transaksional untuk meningkatkan social care pada diri individu: Kajian awal dari perspektif bimbingan dan konseling. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kepustakaan yang mengkaji tentang social care dengan menggunakan konseling analisis transaksional. Tantangan yang dihadapi oleh konselor dalam memberikan pelayanan bimbingan dan konseling dengan menggunakan konseling analisis transaksional untuk meningkatkan social care individu dibahas lebih lanjut. Effects of a Transactional Analysis Program on Adolescents’ Emotion Regulation

Most adolescents are susceptible to exhibit emotional disorders due to rapid changes that occur during adolescence (Rudolph, 2002). To cope with such an issue, it is required to apply intervention programs in order to develop their competencies (Viner et al., 2012). In this study, the effect of transactional analysis on emotion regulation of 10th-grade female high school students has been examined by utilizing a quasi-experimental research (pre-test, post-test, and a control group design). Two classes have been chosen by cluster sampling and randomly assigned as the experimental and control groups. The Regulation of Emotion Questionnaire (Phillips & power, 2007) was administrated. The transactional analysis program has been hold in eight sessions for the experimental group. Both groups were reexamined for follow-up a month later. The collected data were analyzed by Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) indicates a significant increase in the functional emotion regulation strategies as well as a marked decrease in the dysfunctional emotion regulation strategies. The follow-up test also revealed an adequate stability. The implications of transactional analysis program will be discussed.
