Transcriptome Landscapes of Salt-Susceptible Rice Cultivar IR29 Associated with a Plant Growth Promoting Endophytic Streptomyces

Abstract: Plant growth-promoting endophytic (PGPE) actinomycetes have been known to enhance plant growth and mitigate plant from abiotic stresses via their PGP-traits. In this study, PGPE Streptomyces sp. GKU 895 promoted growth and alleviated salt tolerance of salt-susceptible rice cultivar IR29 by augmentation of plant weight and declined ROS after irrigation with 150 mM NaCl in a pot experiment. Transcriptome analysis of IR29 exposed to the combination of strain GKU 895 and salinity demonstrated up and downregulated … Show more

“…The downregulation of Peroxidase (Solyc11g018774), PR5-x (Solyc08g080620) and Chitinase (Solyc10g055780) would be consistent with the activation of ISR by AtB-42. In several other experiments with streptomycetes, the alteration of the metabolisms of plant hormones such as abscisic, salicylic and jasmonic acids has been observed (Belt et al, 2021;Kruasuwan et al, 2023;Kurth et al, 2014;Vergnes et al, 2019;Wu et al, 2018).…”

“…Genomic analysis of the whole genome sequence and transcriptomics would allow us to gain insights into the growth-promoting and salt-tolerance mechanisms of Sinomonas sp. ORF15-23, as exemplified in recent publications [28,29]. In other words, the use of promising ST-PGPR effectively mitigated the deleterious effect of excessive salinity levels.…”

“…The harvest index has a direct and positive effect on grain weight [49]. From after research explained that the IR29 variety is one of the saline-sensitive varieties but its production opportunities are high [50].…”
