Transdermal Patch of Ramipril Loaded Chitosan Nanoparticles Dispersed in Carbopol Gel

Abstract: The main aim to improve the systemic bioavailability of Ramipril by the design of transdermal drug delivery based on chitosan nanoparticles dispersed into gels. When chitosan nanoparticles dispersed into gels consisting of poloxamer and carbopol the resulting formulation exhibited thixotropic behavior with a prolonged drug release properties. Our study demonstrated that the designed nanoparticles gel transdermal delivery system has a potential to improve the systemic bioavailability and the therapeutic efficac… Show more

“…To sustain the formulations’ contact time on the skin, the selected α-arbutin-CSNPs liquid dispersions were transformed to hydrogels utilizing 1% Carbopol 940 (as the gelling agent) (Ramesh and Sireesha, 2017 ), which was added slowly to the dispersions under magnetic stirring (Lab Tech LMS −1003, Korea) to avoid agglomeration. Triethanolamine was used to induce gelation (Aiyalu et al., 2016 ).…”
