“…The potential of ruminal microbiomes to convert plant biomass to various high- value compounds in vitro was developed through the research of in vitro ruminal fermentation 2, 26, 29 . However, the control of fermentation environment in vitro is one of the main factors leading to various results.…”

“…The primary role of Bacteroidetes is connected to degrading diverse plant polysaccharides and improving the nutrient utilization of the host to enhance the host’s immunity ( Bayliss and Houston, 1984 ; Bäckhed et al, 2005 ). Firmicutes is another important role in the degradation of fiber and cellulose and is associated with the decomposition of polysaccharide and the utilization of energy ( Crisol-MartĂnez et al, 2017 ; Liang et al, 2021 ). In this study, the bacterial richness and taxonomic composition in the HA, MA, and LA groups were similar, and no significant difference was observed at the phylum level.…”

“…In the Eukaryota , both Neocallimastix and Anaeromyces have a positive association with 2-hydroxystearic acid (serum) ( Figure 6 and Supplementary Table 12 ). Ruminococcaceae and Lachnospiraceae both specialize in the degradation of polysaccharides ( Liang et al, 2021 ) while some species of Butyrivibrio ( B. fibrisolvens ) were reported to be involved in xylan fermentation and butyrate production ( Emerson and Weimer, 2017 ). In the current study, correlation analysis revealed a strong and positive association between propionate percentage and some bacteria genera ( Ruminococcus , Eubacterium , Intestinibaculum , and Oribacterium ), signifying their role in the production of propionate.…”
